Feyza's Kitchen

Screening in Turkish with English subtitles.

This documentary film is produced by Jale İncekol and it introduces the story of the Gastronomy Academy, an innovative educational institution which was established in Çeşme under the roof of the Faculty of Tourism at Ege University.

The documentary’s scope extends beyond culinary arts, exploring Çeşme’s vibrant but often overlooked agricultural heritage. In a region where urbanization is rapidly changing the town’s landscape, "Feyza’s Kitchen" highlights Çeşme’s neglected potential and the remarkable impact of community involvement. The academy also plays a vital role in supporting the Çeşme Agricultural Development Cooperative, creating a market for local products, and aiding in the birth of new agricultural brands.

The film is supported by BTF and the Shipley Foundation, while the academy presents a pioneering local development model that brings together gastronomy, education, women's entrepreneurship, and agriculture at the heart of Turkey's tourism sector.

Purpose of the screening is for Deniz Altaş, Ela Avcıoğlu, Anna Theilgaard-Badger, George Konialidis, Kaan Karaca and Leon Kurdoğlu to construct the first Net Zero and LEED-certified Educational Support Unit in the Arguvan district of Malatya, one of the most earthquake affected village of the region on 6 February.

The proceeds of the screening will be going to this project via the Bridge to Türkiye Foundation (BTF).
