This selection of visual art is evidence of one man’s will to survive in solitary confinement. The thirty works chosen for this exhibition, entitled ENDURANCE, come from the large reservoir of art produced during the later years of the three decades that Kenneth Reams has been on death in the United States. The artwork reflects and explores his creative mind, interests, incarceration, dreams, and determination to overcome the hardships of having spent most of his life in solitary confinement on death row.

Kenneth Reams is a self-taught artist. His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions internationally, offered for sale in commercial galleries, and donated to multiple institutions. He has won numerous awards and honours.

Images can trigger conversations, sometimes far better than words. Internationally known political cartoonist Patrick Chappatte and journalist Anne-Frederique Widmann have come together to organize a one of a kind exhibition, entitled Windows on Death Row: Art From Inside and Outside the Prison Walls in the USA between 2015 and 2018.

It featured over 60 works of some of the most famous American political cartoonists as well as artworks drawn from a more unlikely source, death row inmates. By presenting a variety of perspectives, from both inside and outside of the prison walls, Chappatte and Widmann hope to stimulate conversation on an issue that touches politics, race, morality, and the question of equality under the law.

As an introduction to the exhibition "Endurance" from Kenneth Reams, 6 artworks from different prisoners are presented from their series at the entrance of Le Cube Gallery.
